Regions
Maps you can download
One download per region. After it lands, the map, the search index and the routing graph are all on your device — and none of them need a network again.
A region is a single file. Inside it are the shapes the map draws, the names search looks through, and the road graph that plans your route — built from OpenStreetMap and packed so the app can read it straight off storage. That is why a province is measured in gigabytes rather than megabytes: the size is the price of never needing a signal.
25 regions listed across 2 countries, 1 downloadable today (30.3 MB of map data).
Downloads happen inside the app, on its Downloads tab. This page is the catalogue, so you can see what exists before you install anything.

How downloads work
-
Resumable
A region is fetched in ranges, so a download that is interrupted — a dropped connection, a closed app, a train through a tunnel — picks up where it stopped instead of starting over. -
Verified before it is used
The file is hashed with SHA-256 as it arrives and checked against the hash in the catalogue. It is only moved into place — in one atomic step — when the two match. A file that fails is deleted, not used. -
Then nothing
Once a region is installed, nothing about using it touches the network. The app makes no request to draw a map, find a place or plan a route. -
Updates are new builds
Each region carries a build number and a build date, both shown above. A rebuild from newer OpenStreetMap data raises the build number; when you want it, delete your copy in the app and download the new one.
Regions are large. Download on Wi-Fi, keep an eye on free storage, and delete a region you are done with — it is one file, and removing it frees exactly the size listed above.
Where the data comes from
Every region is built from OpenStreetMap — the same open map database that thousands of people improve every day. We take published OpenStreetMap extracts, keep the parts a navigator needs, and pack them into the region format the app reads.
OpenStreetMap data is licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), and so is the data inside every region. What that means for you, and the credit we are obliged to give, is on the map data page.
It also means the map is as good as what has been surveyed and mapped — very good in most of southern Ontario, thinner on a logging road north of Cochrane. It is not verified, it is not complete, and a road can be missing or wrong. If you find a mistake, fixing it in OpenStreetMap fixes it for everyone; Support explains how.
About the sizes and dates
The sizes above are the real file sizes from the published catalogue — the same numbers the app shows before it starts a download, read from the same file. A region marked “Coming soon” is on our roster and has not been built yet, so it has no size and no build date, and the app will not offer it.
