Why this exists

Three things that go wrong towing in Canada

The park loops and the northern highways are where coverage stops.
The whole province is on the phone before you set off, so a missed turn towing a trailer at dusk is answered by the device rather than by a spinning progress bar.
A car route puts you on twelve kilometres of gravel, or a ferry you cannot board.
Unpaved surfaces, ferries and toll roads are flags on the road network itself. Switch any of them off and the router plans around them rather than filtering afterwards.
It is nine at night and you need a dump station or a site with room to turn.
Campgrounds, caravan sites and sanitary dump stations are in the region file, so nearby search answers them with the radio off.

What works with the radio off

  • Avoid unpaved roads

    Surface, track type and smoothness tags become an unpaved flag on the edge when the region is built, and the router respects it as a rule, not a preference.

  • Avoid ferries and tolls

    Two more switches, honoured in the same place. A ferry crossing you cannot take with a trailer never enters the route.

  • Voice turn-by-turn

    Street names and roundabout exits, spoken at the distances that give you time to change lanes with a trailer behind you.

  • Legal turns and one-ways

    Turn restrictions and per-vehicle access are applied when the map is built, so the route does not ask for a manoeuvre the intersection forbids.

  • Campgrounds and dump stations

    Campgrounds, caravan sites and sanitary dump stations are searchable near you, with no connection.

  • A province per download

    One file with the map, the names and the routing graph. Fetch it on the campground Wi-Fi and it is yours for the season.
